1. The case study that I would like to be working on is war.
2. I chose this topic, because wars has actully made a big impact to get water, now in some places like in Angola, the pipe was damadged by a bomb shell, so now it is very hard to get water. Most of the water is dirty, so it is unsafe to drink, but that's all they have.
3. This case study is very important, this is because war is effecting the water system dramaticly, from unsafe water, to no water, people has not got the rights to suffer from wars which they were not even part of, if there are more wars in future time it would be even harder to find water, which is safe.
Joe Said... I chose health and hygiene because the goal to have clean water all over the world is very important to the people living around in the African parts for example.
Its important to have clean water because most of the water supply in Africa have various germs e.g. Ebola, Cholera and Protistis, also the residents living in those parts are fighting over these parts because of historical and political reasons
1.The case study that I would like to work on will be Health and hygiene.
2.I chose health and hygiene because it is a major problem in places such as Africa where they have enough water but the water is unhygienic. It has all kinds of germs, bacteria etc. kids are sent to get the water and when they reach back home parents know that they have to boil the water but that does not kill all the germs. Unhealthy water can kill people. The water contains cholera germs which can kill people.
3.Clean water is important all around the world. Everyone should have access to clean water. If not germs would continue spreading diseases and killing people.
1) I will be working on Health and Hygiene 2)I chose the topic because I think it is important to have clean water and not have the risk of getting sick because of dirty water. I think it is unfair that in rich countries they waste clean drinkable water, while in Africa they have none. 3)It's important because it's one of the Millenium Goals for 2015 and still nothing has happened. People can get sick and die because there is no clean water for them.
Ben Yoel 1.Which case study you will be working on. The case study that I will be working on is Tourism and Trade.
2.Why did you choose the topic? I chose Tourism and Trade because it has a big impact on the country that is the hosting the tourists and the water that the country has.
3.So what? Why is it important for us to look into your case study? It is important for us to look into my case study because tourism and trade is one of the big market's in most countries especially in countries like Thailand and Israel, Israel has very limited amount of water and rain, so Israel must be careful not to waste all its water on tourist hotels.
1.The case study that I will be working on is War.
2.I chose this topic because war has a great affect on water. War damages pipes and many other water supplies. This has an impact on a lot of people. Another reason is it is similar to the situation in Thailand right now!
3.It is important for us to look into this case study because war can affect the enconomy, education, political, social, tourism and many others. For example, we cannot go to school, the tourist won't come to Thailand. If this situation continues, I am sure that it will affect the water supplies in Thailand like many other countries.
1. I will be working on large-scale irrigational systems.
2. Because I do allready know some background information on irrigational systems and find them interesting.
3. Although it may not be the most needy cause without it some ancient civilizations would not have survived as they may have had a good water source it may hae been far from the good soil for crops which would mean that they needed to find a way of getteing water all over. That is why irrigation is important.
I chose the case study about the drought. I chose that topic because I know that countries that have droughts have all their land dry without water. So I know some things about droughts. I think that it is important for us to look in to my case study about droughts because it is a common problem that happens in countries which have no water and are very dry.
I chose drought because where ever there are droughts there is hardly any water in the the city or state, so people wont have any water to drink or take bath or etc......
3.So what? Why is it important for us to look into your case study?
It is really important because if the people don't have any water then the people who live there can die easily and there would not be any plants or trees, for fresh air.
1.warfare 2.I chose this topic because I did’nt know warfare caused lack of water 3.it’s important because the red shirts are going on right now so I thought some stuff like this might happensss.
I chose drought because I think that it is important that we have water and without water we die. Also when there is a drought everything starts to dry up, then there is no fish or food for the fish to eat. Then the fishermen become a bit useless and the fish are completely useless because they will rot and there will be no food and crops to grow because it will be so hot and no water and crops live on water. In the process there rain will slowly stop and more heat and also less drinking water. But once their all gone because no water we people will die and there is no fish. So that is why droughts are very important.
Buddy Chawanwit Karoonyavanich Humanities 1) I will be working on Dams 2) I choose this topic because it seemed too “harmless” to affect the world water problem and I didn’t know anything much about dams and dams don’t look like the mastermind of dirty water. Tourism uses water because tourist uses water, War destroys water supplies, Health and Hygiene pollutes water, Trade wastes water and money to grow crops, Large scale irrigation wastes even more water to grow a whole farm of crops using machinery or pipes, drought means lose of valuable water, but dams seems harmless (Well, it seems harmless until I saw the 6 slide mini-presentation on the website). That is why I choose it. 3) It is important for you to look into my case study because that people’s way of life are destroyed and changed when they move for place of the dam. For people who are in a heavy trouble with money, matter for them will be worse because that being moved around and around would affect you money state because that you’re daily customers (if you’re a shopkeeper) will not be there and you will need to restart and advertise yourself for a good business. You will lose all your friends if you are moved outside or away from the city. If you are poor then you’ll probably lose your job which is your only way of getting money. Then in your new house you won’t have a job and if you don’t find a job you then probably become part of poverty. So, finally, in the end, Dams are poverty bringers.
2. I choose War, beacuse it is connected too everything such as Drought because, if there is drought farmers (not all) sometimes fight over lands and maybe such as Tourism & Trade, because then the factories that make water for us to drink or use won't have enough water for everyone but in the other side (another country or another city) might have enough water to use so then it would start up a war. All of this is connected to war and more............
3.People should look at this case study because, if you look at war it might give you more infomation than you except because as I said before it is connected to everything but sometimes the war might not be about water or maybe it is just about politics but long after the war there might be a problem to get acess to water easily because the pipe might be damaged during the war which will lead to affecting the economy and trading because no one can produce water anymore so then people who work at the water company will lose their jobs so in the mean time they will have to find "Unsafe" water to use while they can and this example is talking about "Health & Hygiene"
1. What topic? I will be working on health and hygiene
2. Why did you choose this topic? I chose this topic because this also affects the water and people. Kids at Africa have to bring water that mostly have germs and bacteria in it, then their parents would boil the water to make it clean. When they boil the water, the heat kills most germs but not all so they can still get sick from drinking dirty water.
3. Why is it important for us to look into your case study? This case study is important because if we don't care and let the germs in the water spread, most people in the world wouldn't have clean water to use.
1. The topic I would like to research on is war. 2.This is because I feel very sorry for the little kids born in undevelped countries going through war. How will they be able to imagine there future? 3.This is important for us because WE could be going through this and at this rate, thailand is at its worst. There is even a Curfew!
